My Favourite Crochet Book

Hi friends!

I’m so excited about today’s blog post..

I just made one of my absolute favourite purchases that I’ve ever made for my designing career.

This post contains affiliate links. This means, should you make a purchase, I will receive a small portion of the sale at no extra cost to you. All opinions are my own. View my Privacy + Disclosures Policy here.

This is the best resource for designing crochet pieces. Any type of crochet piece – garments, accessories, decor, anything.

I’ve got other crochet books that are wonderful, but they only show how to create the stitch pattern in a rectangular shape. You have to figure out how to increase and decrease and create new shapes on your own.

This book shows you not only how to recreate the stitch pattern, but also includes how to increase and decrease in that stitch pattern. I find this to be incredibly helpful and I’ve already used it 029347239 times and I JUST bought it. If you’re the type of maker who is looking to expand your skills or if you design your own patterns, you NEED this book. I promise, not only will you love it, but you will find it incredibly useful. Whenever I’m looking to create a new pattern using a fun stitch pattern, opening this book is always my Step 1!

It’s called “Crochet Every Way Stitch Dictionary” by Dora Ohrenstein.

I used it to make my Grand Arches Cardi (shown below), my Seashore Tank, my Teulon Tank, my Wings of a Butterfly Tank, and my Ripple Plant Rug! I mean it when I say that I can not live without this stitch book!

My current WIP using one of the stitches from this book.

If you haven’t heard, I’m writing a book! It’s called Modern Crochet Sweaters: 20 Chic Designs for Everyday Wear, and it’s available for pre-order now 🙂
