About

The River Grove Wrap is unique in both shape and design. This trapezoidal wrap features a patchwork design, showcasing a medley of stitches and color blocking techniques to create one unified piece. Within this pattern, you’ll explore ribbing, post stitches, and a mix of basic stitches to create unique textures.

Symmetrical in shape, but asymmetrical in its stitch patterns and color blocking, this stylish wrap can be worn in a variety of ways: around your neck and open like a scarf, over your back like a shawl, or bundled around your neck like an infinity scarf for ultimate warmth. Try adding tassels or pom poms to either corner for an even more fun, bold look!

Materials

Yarn: Worsted—Lion Brand Touch of Alpaca in 4 shades: Oxford Grey, Charcoal, Taupe, Olive

  • 90% Acrylic; 10% Alpaca
  • 207 yds [190 m] per 3.5-oz [100-g] skein (regular sized skeins, not the “bonus bundles”)

Yardage:

Color A: Oxford Grey – 3 skeins/460 yds [421 m]

Color B: Olive – 2 skeins/275 yds [252 m]

Color C: Charcoal – 1 skein/165 yds [151 m]

Color D: Taupe – 2 skeins/355 yds [325 m]

If substituting Touch of Alpaca, choose any similar, category #4 worsted weight yarn that matches gauge. Because of the large hook size used with this yarn weight, most fibers should work fine in this pattern, producing a wrap with a drape similar to the one shown. Always swatch before beginning to ensure you are happy with the resulting fabric.

Hook: Size U.S. K/10½ (6.5 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge

Notions: Tapestry needle
