Pattern Notes
Skill Level: Easy
Stitch Counts: Stitch counts are listed after each row. If no stitch count is given, there has been no change since the previous row.
Right Side/Wrong Side: There is no right side or wrong side to the linen stitch; both sides are identical. The pattern will instruct you to assign a right side as you work the bottom border. The side facing you as you work Row 2 of the bottom border will become the right side.
Turning Chain: The beginning chain (ch-1) does not count as a stitch.
Construction: This poncho is worked in a rectangle, then folded in half and partially seamed at the shoulder. The section remaining unseamed becomes the opening for the head.
Changing Colors: For the colorwork portion of this poncho, you will change colors every row. When changing colors, work the final single crochet in the old color, but do not work the final yarn-over to close the stitch. Work this yarn-over with the new color. Then drop the old color (leave it there to pick up later) and continue crocheting with the new color. Unused colors will remain attached to your work and will be picked up again as needed.
