About

Okay.. this piece kind of blows my mind. It’s the most intricate design I’ve created to date. My Safari Maxi Dress is the star of this collection, but this piece is what I’m most proud of.

This elegant shawl is comprised of a delicate collection of leaves that are interconnected to create one unifying piece, just as we are all connected to Mother Earth. As the wind breathes life into your wrap, watch the leaves dance in the breeze.

In my head, I knew I wanted some sort of giant shawl with “leaves” throughout, but I was truly shocked to see how incredible it came out in the end! I can’t even believe this piece is real. It’s my favourite design yet. It was my first time working with charting software, and it took a ton of trial and error to get the “leaf” image to actually work out and look like something that resembles a leaf! I remember spending hours trying to swatch out different shapes and it was SO worth it!

This massive shawl measures 70″ wide and 39″ tall. Golden Leaves Wrap is comprised of a 24-row repeat and a simple, solid border around all 4 edges. Wear this piece to the beach, to a wedding, or over your favourite summer outfit.

Even though this piece is part of my summer collection, I feel like it can easily be a fall piece as well. The leaf motifs and the golden colour of this yarn really work well together to create an amazing autumn shawl, not just for summer.

Yarn

To make this shawl, you will need: 7 hanks of Hawthorne Kettle Dye (80% Superwash Fine Highland Wool; 20% Polyamide) in colourway Compass.

Hawthorne is one of my favourite fingering-weight yarns ever. Read my honest yarn review here. There are SO many different Hawthorne lines: Speckles, Tonal, Multi, Kettle Dye, etc. You will definitely find something that speaks to you!

This yarn is wound in a hank and requires a ball winderswift.

Thanks so much for reading, I truly hope you love this wrap as much as I do!
