Fiber Friday – WeCrochet Palette Fingering
Hi guys!
Today I’m going to share a little bit of my experience working with WeCrochet’s Palette Fingering yarn.
This post is sponsored by We Crochet, but all opinions are my own. It was my own decision to write this type of blog post, featuring this yarn, because I genuinely love it and think you will too!

Who is WeCrochet?
Before we dive into this yarn, let me just give you a little briefing of who WeCrochet is!
Last year, in 2019, Knit Picks created a sister company called WeCrochet. They sell the same yarns, but cater to crocheters! On their home page, you can find categories like:
and other helpful info geared to crocheters. I was so excited to learn about this company because so often, yarn companies cater to knitters, and crocheters are kind of forgotten about!
Not anymore! 🙂
WeCrochet – Palette Fingering
Well, well, well.. another fingering weight being added to my favourites list!
I just finished a project with this yarn and knew I had to include this in my Fiber Friday posts.
I made an asymmetrical triangle wrap/shawl with this yarn called the Faux Fade Wrap and it uses 8 balls of Palette yarn.
I spent a while looking at yarns on the WeCrochet website, trying to choose one that had a wide variety of colours in order to do a colourwork piece. I ended up finding Palette and knew I had to use it for this project! There are approx. 8264982353746 colours, it’s inexpensive, and it feels amazing!
Here’s why I love this yarn so much:
- Colours – They have so. many. colours. There must be at least 100! There is a yarn for any colour you’re wanting.. perfect for fades because there are so many shades of each colour, and there’s all gorgeous. Click here to see all the colours so you can see what I mean, then come back here :p. There’s pretty much every colour you could imagine in their colour list. This also means that this is a yarn that’s sticking around for a while so you won’t have to worry about it going out of stock.
- Price – It’s only $3.99 per 50g ball and it’s 100% wool. Come on! You can make my entire Faux Fade Wrap for under $40. Talk about AFFORDABLE.
- Quality – It’s lovely to work with! It feels like a high quality wool, and softens as you work with it. Mine softened a lot after blocking and I’m obsessed with it.
…. Did I mention it’s only $3.99 per ball??

My Thoughts
I really enjoyed using this yarn. It feels about how I expected 100% wool to feel. Upon receiving it, I thought it might feel scratchy when worn, but it truly doesn’t after a quick block. I steamed the wrap I made with this yarn and it really softened up and has great drape. It is not wound really tight, so I thought my hook might split the plies but I did not have this problem at all, which surprised me. Basically, it exceeded my expectations, haha! If you’re looking for an inexpensive wool to use that was literally created to be used for colourwork, this is the yarn for you!
