About

The modern silhouette of the Vested Interest Slipover effortlessly blends sophistication and comfort, making it a standout piece in any wardrobe. This versatile style is easy to dress up or down—pair it with a button-up and tailored trousers for the office or layered over a flowy dress for a casual weekend look.

Construction: This slipover is crocheted flat from the top-down. You will begin with the back panel neckline, working a few increase rows until reaching your unique yoke depth. The front panel is worked directly onto the back panel, beginning at the tops of the shoulders. Next, the two front pieces are joined to create the front neckline. The front and back panels are connected and crocheted in joined, turned rounds until reaching your desired length. Optional waist-shaping instructions are included for a tapered fit. The bottom ribbing is worked separately and sewn to the bottom edge. Lastly, several finishing rounds are added to the neckline and each armhole opening to clean up the edges.

Pattern Notes

Skill Level: Intermediate

Sizing: This slipover is written in nine sizes as follows: XS (S, M, L, XL) (2X, 3X, 4X, 5X). Make sure to follow the numbers for your size only.

View full sizing chart on next page.

Right Side: There is a “right side” and “wrong side” to this slipover. The pattern will instruct you on which side is intended to be worn facing outwards.

Stitch Counts: Stitch counts are listed after each row/round in italics. If no stitch count is given, there has been no change since the previous row/round. If only one number is provided, it applies to all sizes.

Right-handed vs Left-handed Crocheters: The pattern is written with right-handed crocheters in mind (those who hold their hook in their right hand and crochet each row toward the left). If you are a left-handed crocheter, any instructions referring to the “right-hand side” or “left-hand side” should be reversed.

Turning Chain: The turning chain does not count as a stitch anywhere in this pattern.

Notes on Fit: This design is intended to fit oversized, with the top edges of the slipover extending slightly past the edges of your shoulders. There is an optional finishing round that will cinch the armholes in for a tighter fit, if preferred. The fit of the body will seem quite wide before working the tapered decreases and adding the band of ribbing to the bottom—this is normal.
